Foot Locker launches Home Court: London tournament in Jordan Brand collab
Foot Locker is to stage a basketball battle royal featuring some of the best of the UK’s local teams competing to become the sportswear retail giant’s crowned champions
The ‘Home Court: London' tournament, in collaboration with Jordan Brand, took place Saturday (19 July) at Clapham Common Court, refurbed by Foot Locker in 2021
Eight male and four female teams competed in a straight knockout tournament of traditional 5v5 games, with the winners taking home a Foot Locker in-store shopping experience, including £500 store credit for every player
Alongside the tournament, players and up-and-coming talent could also get involved with coaching masterclasses, basketball clinics from local coaches, as well as hoop challenges and a three-point contest to win prizes throughout the day
Spectators could also indulge in sneaker care brand Crep Protect's on-court event offering free sneaker cleaning, as well as arcade games with prizes such as free sneakers, vouchers, and other perks
Lostboys Channel was on-court curating a line-up of DJs to soundtrack the day
Neil Carter, VP GEO: UK & Ireland said: “[This] is an incredibly exciting moment for basketball culture within the UK, as we look to showcase some of the best grassroots talent we have to offer
“Basketball has always been at the heart of what we do as a brand, so being able to host this tournament for our community, especially at our Clapham Common Court… hopefully inspiring the next generation of players to take to the court
Such events are key promotional happenings that reach out directly to fanbase who are most likely to be spending large amounts at stores like Foot Locker and with high-profile brands
