André Maeder is parting ways with the KaDeWe Group. The CEO is moving to the Selfridges Group. On May 1, 2024, Maeder will take over the management and coordination of the banners of the group, which, in addition to the British luxury department stores Selfridges, also includes De Bijenkorf in the Netherlands and Brown Thomas Arnotts in Ireland. In his new role, the CEO will report to the co-chairmen and owners of Selfridges Group: Tos Chirathivat from the Thai Central Group and Dieter Berninghaus, who is responsible for Signa's retail business. Until spring 2024, André Maeder will act as a consultant within the group

 

 

 

 

 

 

Since joining the KaDeWe Group in 2014, the 64-year-old has driven the transformation of the three luxury department stores belonging to the KaDeWe Group - KaDeWe in Berlin, Alsterhaus in Hamburg and Oberpollinger in Munich. Major milestones in his ten years as CEO of the KaDeWe Group were the eight-year extensive renovation of all three department stores, the implementation of a strategy to affirm the store's luxury positioning, the launch of e-commerce, the further development of all processes, most recently with the introduction of the new SAP merchandise management system. He was also responsible for the strategic expansion of the stores of the KaDeWe Group with the opening of two new department stores planned for spring 2025, the Carsch-Haus in Düsseldorf and the Lamarr in Vienna

 

 

 

 

 

Dr. Michael Peterseim, CFO of the Group since 2018, will take over from Maeder. He has been promoted to CEO and will take over as CEO and chairman of the executive board from November 1. The 53-year-old has been chief financial officer and managing director of the KaDeWe Group since 2018

In addition to optimising and realigning all processes, Peterseim was most recently responsible for the introduction of e-commerce and the new SAP merchandise management system. Together with Maeder, Peterseim also developed the new strategy "Unique Luxury Moments", which will be implemented in the coming years together with the senior management team of the KaDeWe Group

 

 

 

 

 

 

In the course of the CEO change, the management of the KaDeWe Group will be expanded and strengthened with the appointment of two new director positions, both of which will be filled internally. Janina Schüßler will become part of the KaDeWe Group's management in her new position as director marketing communications from November 1. She has a master's degree in Global Fashion Management and held various positions at Hugo Boss, where most recently she was responsible for the DACH marketing area. Since January 2022, Schüßler has been in charge of the KaDeWe Group's marketing department as senior head

 

 

 

 

 

 

In addition, Julia Lehmann will also be joining the KaDeWe Group management team from November 1 in her new role as director merchandise management. She will also be responsible for the logistics area. Since joining KaDeWe Group in June 2021, she has held the position of senior head merchandise management. Following her studies in international management, Julia Lehmann worked for Hugo Boss in Germany and abroad for several years, before she became senior merchandise planner at Zalando.
