After having to postpone his highly anticipated show due to the death of Queen Elizabeth II, legendary Belgian designer Raf Simons presented his latest collection at London nightclub Printworks. It was the first time the brand presented a collection outside of Paris
Usually a mainstay of Paris Fashion Week, Raf Simons brought his show to London for the first time. After a visit to Frieze last year, the designer felt compelled to celebrate the UK capital's rich underground culture, which fits the style of his brand. The designer, who is behind some of fashion's most progressive aesthetic movements through his tenures at Jil Sander, Dior, Calvin Klein and now Prada, has a loyal following. It was, arguably, the most exciting show in London this season

Yes, Raf Simons may be a master of tailoring and knitting, but his ability to come up with out-of-the-ordinary accessories deserves just as much praise. There were shoppers with leather and vinyl mesh parts with hardware details that mimicked piercings, oversized canvas handbags that were carried over the shoulder or rolled up into clutches (remember the bag Jil Sander "paper" lunch bags for fall-winter 2012?), and thin leather belts worn around the waist and hips. The shoes were also sensational, and included leather knee-high boots (a Raf Simons classic, of course) and pointy-toe heels with lots of bondage-style straps down the front and a sculptural curving heel. inwards (reminiscent of Dior pumps and Prada 45mm slingbacks by Raf Simons, perhaps?) Drawing inspiration from past seasons' designs, the designer also presented jewelry in the shape of skeletal hands and of vampire fangs
